OUR COMPANY MISSION
Posted on Pavel H3 March 2025Verified Absolutely wonderful tour company in Guyana I only had couple days in Guyana but Wilderness Explorers arranged all airport pick ups / drop offs, Kaieteur Falls Tour and tailor made Georgetown Tour which I loved as we went to places I wanted to see rather than what normal tour does. I loved the reusable bottle as the welcome gift, very touching and nice intro to Guyana. Christina, Charro and Sharim were all amazing. Great communication, always responsive and willing to go extra mile. Can’t recommend high enough!Posted on Bob C21 February 2025Verified Guyana Nature Experience tour - January 2025 Things do not always go to plan in Guyana, but Wilderness Explorers are absolutely superb and will ensure that you have the best possible experience of the country. All the staff I met were friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional. And when the wildlife chooses to show itself it is spectacular.Posted on Nicola O6 February 2025Verified Professionalism and warmth I participated in a Guyana Nature Experience group tour organized by Wilderness Explorers. This agency is characterized by a highly efficient and at the same time warm service. With a lot of patience and professionalism, they resolved my doubts about the tour. Throughout the tour, the organization was simply impeccable in any aspect with a constant and, I repeat, highly professional follow-up. Everything flowed very well. They are very knowledgeable about Guyana and are pleased to recommend them. The service of Tishana, Amarylis, Annie and Christina is noteworthy.Posted on Jason M29 January 2025Verified Great company, amazing must-do adventure Our group of 3 from the USA went on a Kaieteur Falls Tour with Wilderness. It was our favorite experience during our Guyana vacation. Our tour was a little rushed due to a delay, but still had plenty of time to take in the waterfall. It's important to keep in mind that delays happen due to weather and the rule of the planes being back at the hangar before sunset. Any delays/cancellations shouldn't be put on Wilderness, if you happen to see that being mentioned in reviews. We paid our deposit upfront to secure our spot and when the minimum number of guests were met, they let us know immediately that the trip was good to go. The van was at our airbnb right on time to pick us up, which was super helpful due to the difficulty of easily finding transportation around town (and on time). The team at Wilderness are very professional and great with communication. I highly recommend doing this tour with their organization and this is obviously a must do for anyone touring Guyana.Posted on Renato L24 October 2024Verified Very reliable For our recent trip to Guyana Wilderness Explorers arranged accommodation in Georgetown, excursion to Kaiteur Falls and internal transfers. Everything went well, special appreciation for our trip planner and for the various drivers who transferred us here and thePosted on Fiona C22 April 2024Verified Well organised tours We went with wilderness explorers to kaieteurFalls. The trip was excellent although getting final confirmation that we were going was difficult so it was hard to book other tours. The falls were amazing and well worth the trip.We also had a city tour with them - the guide was good and knowledgeablePosted on Fraser22 April 2024Verified Amazingly attentive Tour Company. We went on a private bespoke trip to the Guyanas organised by WE via Cox and King in UK. I have never been away with a tour company who have been so attentive during our trip. It was flawless as we were passed from one lodge / plane / guide / Boat/ vehicle to another. It was not quite so good in Suriname and French Guyana, but that was not their fault as they subcontracted to local companies. Little did we know that WE were following us on our trip all the time and checking everything was in place, which it was. They came and saw us mid trip to check how we were doing and make sure everything was as we wanted. In Georgetown they organised a great day's tour and evening dinner with the Singing Chef. All the guides were excellent and were good at identifying all the birds.Posted on Conor C13 February 2024Verified worked with wilderness explorers to book market tour and dinner with backyard cafe booked a market tour, city tour, and dinner at the backyard cafe with wilderness explorers. Shonnette was incredibly helpful with figuring out itinerary and booking. Thanks so much!Posted on Melissa19 November 2023Verified Wilderness Explorers Wilderness Explorers are a good touring company to use in Guyana. They were very helpful when I was planning the trip and happy to change the itinerary when requested. Our holiday was a success and all lodge/hote bookings and transfers were executed with no issues. The only issues we did encounter were that I did not just have one person dealing with y account and it got confusing who was managing my trip. It seems that several members of staff are away on guided trips and on one aoccasion I was not notified and had to chase the company for a response. Someone then stepped in to deal with my holiday itinerary. I also had to alert them to book my internal flight transfer. Also, we were not notified directly by Wilderness Explorers about our Lethem- Georgetown flight being cancelled. This had to be sorted out the night before through a lodge staff member who informed us that our 4.45pm flight had been cancelled and we were put on the 10.15am flight instead. We would not have known if he had not told us! I was owe some refund money because we change some of the lodge tours and over paid for excess baggage, but this was paid in cash without any quibbling. Overall, I would recommend this company. Some of the staff I dealt with were very efficient and reliable in their advice and assistance.
